Soccer Tactics Board

Plan how your team's going to set up before kickoff, then save it as an image you can share with the squad. The board above lets you drag players around the pitch, drop them into the shape you want, and figure out who's going where for corners and free kicks. That's it. Simple, fast, no software to install.

Coaches use it for matchday briefs. Analysts use it to break down systems. Fans use it to sketch out how their team should be lining up. Whatever you're using it for, it works the same way.

Move Players Around the Pitch

Click any player and drag them wherever you want them. Push your defensive line higher, drop a midfielder deeper, slide your wingers wide — whatever shape you're going for. There aren't any complicated menus to figure out. If you can drag and drop, you can use it.

If you want to build a proper team sheet to go alongside the tactics, head over to the lineup builder.

Plan Set Pieces in Detail

Corners, free kicks and penalties are where games get won and lost. Place every attacker exactly where you want them, set up the defensive wall, mark who's picking up who, and you've got a clear visual to show your players before the match. Same deal for defending — drop your back four into shape and figure out who's marking which runner.

Edit Player Names and Numbers

Double-click any player on the pitch and a small editor pops up. Type in their name, set their shirt number, and they'll show up on the board with the real details.

Export and Share

Once the board looks right, hit download. You'll get a clean PNG image with no watermark on it, ready to share in the team WhatsApp, post on social, or drop into a match analysis video.

Tactics Board FAQs

Is the tactics board free?

Free to use. No account needed, no paywall, no premium version. The image you download doesn't have a watermark on it either.

How do I move players around?

Just drag them. Click and hold any player on the pitch, then drop them wherever you want. Works the same on a phone or tablet — touch and drag.

Can I edit player names and shirt numbers?

Yeah. Double-click any player on the board and a small editor opens up. Type in the name, set their number, and the player updates straight away.

Can I plan corners and free kicks on it?

That’s one of the main things people use it for. Place every attacker where you want them, set up the wall, mark who's covering who — same deal for defensive set pieces too.

How do I save my tactics?

Hit the download button. You'll get a high-quality PNG of the board you can share in your team chat, post on social, or drop into a match analysis video.

Does it work on a phone?

Yep. The whole thing runs in the browser, so it works on phones, tablets and desktops without any difference. Nothing to install.

Is this any good for coaches?

A lot of grassroots and Sunday League coaches use it for pre-match briefs and training plans. It's quick — you can sketch out a setup in a minute or two and show it to the players straight away.

How is this different from other tactics boards?

It’s built to be simple. No drawing tools, no animation, no menus full of stuff you’ll never use. Just drag players, edit their details, download the board. That’s the whole point.

Can I use real player names?

Yes. Type them in manually, or pull players straight from our player database and the names and numbers fill in automatically.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Open the page and you're ready to go. It all runs in the browser.

Do you have other football tools?

A few. There’s a lineup builder for proper team sheet graphics, a player database full of real footballers, a match generator for FIFA and EA FC, and a World Cup 2026 sweepstake generator generator for offices and friend groups.
